Polly Whitehead

Polly started her career as an undergraduate engineering apprentice with British Aerospace and worked at Woodford and Chadderton for 13 years on Nimrod, Victor and Vulcan tankers, Airbus and various research programmes. During this time she learned to fly with the Avro Gliding Club and was awarded a PPL scholarship by the Chief Test Pilot.
Polly remains an aviation enthusiast being a successful competition aerobatic pilot flying a Slingsby Firefly, enjoys flying tail-draggers, is a gliding instructor and operates self-launching motor gliders.
Polly was delighted to join Pilotwise in 2005, where she combines her love of flying with an enthusiasm for writing about it
